I compare so many things to Nando's. Probably not the best way to start a restaurant review, but the Nando's business model works so well that I see so many restaurants emilating this simple, relaxed system. That's just what I got from Pieminister, of Cardiff's St Mary's St. So your hungry and need a quick fix. Easy. If there was ever going to be a pie version, this is it. As you can see we grabbed some beers, sweet potato fries (oh gawd), a pint of gravy and a solid pie (£4). M got the fish, which he did say was rather tasty, delicate flakes of fish, with a grilled mash top. I had the funghi & chicken, classic! It was so delicious, the pastry was crisp and cracked to the touch. The inside was stuffed with slices of tender chicken and heavily savoury soaked mushrooms. The gravy is free?! I know right, things are getting crazy. But the staff we're lovely, very attentative. The pies came in quick succession and we're warm and ozzing. The decor kind of reminds me of hollywood, bold pictures and lots of lights. They've glammed up pies, in a  very bold retro black and yellow theme. It reminds me of an American diner with class. You'd want to hang out here just for a few drinks and a catch up.
