High Functioning Anxiety

Anyone else?

I've seen loads of my friends share these types of posts on social media and I'm always thinking, yeah me too. I'm so surprised by the actual people who share it too. You would never have thought that these people suffer with anxiety. They look so, well normal. They seem to live normal lives and are doing pretty well. High functioning you might say hahaha. I guess that's anxiety in a nutshell though isn't it? Looking pretty normal on the surface, but underneath paddling like mad.

The last few days have been super productive. Almost too much. Too much productivity is never a bad thing, right? Sometimes it can be. From the start of 2018, I've been adopting the work hard play hard mantra and it's served me pretty well. Until this week, where I forgot the play hard bit and started feeling super anxious. Strange.

You ever get the feeling that there's just not enough time in the day? Of all the possible things you can and want to do, how will we find the time? Haha.

That stress is probably what sent me into this cloudy patch. (That's one of my favourite Stephen Fry analogies.) My strongest points now are being aware of my triggers. I can see when it's happening, rather than dwelling in it. I notice my diary get chocca-block, I literally plan things out to the half hour. OCD much? Do you ever freak out if you miss something too?!

So if you're like me - I think it's time to take a break. The timing was a little off, but we'll just catch the last of the bank holiday weekend whoop! Take a breath and don't be so hard on yourself.

Time to let my hair down a little and chill out, 100mph is simply too fast my darling.
